ADA to discuss diabetes care "Into the 21st Century"

Podiatrists and other specialists who wish to learn more about helping patients manage their diabetes should attend the American Diabetes Association's 44th annual advanced postgraduate course.

"Diabetes Care: Moving Into the 21st Century" is scheduled Jan. 17-19, 1997, at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside Hotel, New Orleans, LA.

Seminars and workshops will highlight immune markers and the risk for type I diabetes, treating and managing diabetes in older adults, the latest research on treatments for impotence and osteoporosis, the role of oxidants and anti-oxidant therapy for diabetic complications.

The "Manual Lymph Drainage (Vodder Technique)/ Complete Decongestive Physiotherapy Certification Course" will be held in Ft. Lauderdale from Jan. 18 to Feb. 1, 1997. It is a complete European standard (135 hours) certification course in basic and advanced techniques of manual Iymph drainage as well as Iymphedema bandaging for upper and lower extremities. Course is provided by Lymphedema Services Academy of Lymphatic Studies and is recognized by FPTA for 162 CEU's and by FOTA for 135 CEU's.
